The Salt Lake Astronomical
Society (SLAS) is a nonprofit
corporation formed in the state of Utah. We're composed of over 200 members wishing to enjoy the pleasures and benefits of an association of
persons interested in astronomy.
We're here to:
promote astronomy
encourage public education and interest
coordinate activities with
professional research
Monthly meetings are:
Every 3rd Wednesday of the month at 7:30 p.m.
(Except
December, check the event calendar for any changes). Non-members are welcome to attend the meetings, however we'd
love to have you join the club!
We have a beautiful facility at Stansbury Park called
the
Stansbury Park Observatory Complex (SPOC) consisting of the Harmons
Observatory, which houses two large reflecting telescopes, and the Donna
Pease Wiggins Refractor House which houses a large refracting telescope.
