The Salt Lake Astronomical Society (SLAS) is a nonprofit corporation formed in the state of Utah.  We're composed of about 200 members wishing to enjoy the pleasures and benefits of an association of persons interested in astronomy.

We're here to:
promote astronomy
encourage public education and interest
coordinate activities with professional research

Monthly meetings are:
every 3rd Tuesday of the month at the University of Utah, Engineering/Mines Classroom Building (EMCB), Room 105 (Except December).  Non-members are welcome to attend the meetings, however we'd love to have you join the club!

We hosted ALCON 2002  in Salt Lake City, July 31 - August 3, 2002.  You can read about how great it turned out here.

SLAS is governed by a constitution and a yearly elected Board of Directors consisting of:
president
vice president
secretary/treasurer
two board members.
We also have some positions that are appointed by the Board.
