Lightshields I built in April 2009 when weather was an issue

Lightshields I constructed from plans found online to aid me in remaining dark adapted and if viewing from dark sites, it will shield others from my red light I use to sketch objects. They are six and a half feet high and five feet wide. I made six shields and this gives me a 12 by 16 foot wide "dark room" to operate in when I am observing. It does cut about 10 degrees from the horizon but I never really look that low and if for someone reason I do, I can move the shield.
They are partially glued and they also come apart. I used 40mill black plastic for the shield (some use cloth or other materials but that was too expensive for me). Each shield cost around $10 to make (I spent $60 on materials and made 6 shields). Longest part was waiting for the glue to dry on the PVC piping and the glue to dry on the back of the velcro to dry (the normal backing won't stay on the pipe). Total time to build 6 shields was around 6 hours or so.
