Angela Berti is originally from Portland, Oregon. She attended Harvey Mudd College in southern California, then spent several years in the San Francisco Bay Area where she worked as a planetarium presenter at the California Academy of Sciences, and also completed her master’s degree in astrophysics at San Francisco State University. In 2014 she moved to San Diego to start her doctoral studies at UC San Diego. After graduating from UCSD in 2020 she began a postdoctoral research position at the University of Utah, where she is a member of the Dark Energy Spectroscopic Instrument (DESI) collaboration. The pandemic kept her working remotely in San Diego for almost a year, and she is excited to (finally) be moving to Salt Lake City next month. She will speak to us Via ZOOM on her research in "Galactic conformity, assembly bias, and the galaxy-halo connection" |
