Public Sun Party - Saturday, July 04, 2015
Description: Time: 9:00AM-Noon
Cost: Free

Come join members of the Salt Lake Astronomical Society as we explore the nearest star to Earth... Our sun! SLAS members will have special telescopes available that will allow you to safely view our powerful and fascinating local star. Observe sun spots, flares, and more. The surface of the sun is always changing, so there is always something new to see.

Safety Tips:
* Protect your skin with sunscreen.
* Protect your eyes with UV rated sunglasses.
* Never look directly at the sun.
* Stay cool: bring water, a hat, or umbrella.
* Only look through a telescope at the sun after the operator has said it is safe to do so.
Location: There is no change from Winchester Park due to the construction. We will simply relocate to a new location on the same lawn area. We will relocate to the grass at the entry to the parking lot. There is plenty of room and even some shade.
